
With training camp beginning several more UFL players are beginning to have their names called by NFL franchises for the 2025 training camp. As of Friday Morning (8/15), the UFL has seen 48 (50 according to the UFL) players earn NFL contracts as the league hopes to surpass the 75 players who earned NFL opportunities in 2024. So far 77 players have worked out NFL during this signing cycle.

The Colts worked out and signed Marcus Haynes as the team battles injuries on defense. Haynes was signed by the Brahmas mid-season after his release from the Browns. The Bills who are also dealing with injuries signed Nelson Ceaser, a rotational EDGE rusher for the team. The Brahmas currently lead the UFL with 9 signings.

Seth Green has resigned with the Saints after several injures with the team. Green still has an uphill battle to make the team as the Saints currently roster 8 Tight Ends. JaVonta Payton received his first workout this cycle with the Saints as well.

Deneric Prince was released after spending one day with the Patriots. He was released in favor of Division-II running back Shane Watts. Nehemiah Shelton makes his 3rd consecutive return to the NFL after a spring football season. Shelton has been with the Showboats since 2023 as a draft pick and has spent time with the Jets and Chargers since coming out of San Jose State.

Keni-H Lovely received another workout on Tuesday, this time with the Chicago Bears. Lovely would visit the Jacksonville Jaguars on Wednesday and sign with the team. The Panthers will also be without WR Malik Turner who signed with the 49ers. Turner has recorded 29 NFL receptions and will be in his 3rd stint with San Francisco.
The Panthers also re-signed Dashaun White a member of the 2023-24 team and their 2023 5th round draft pick. White spent 2024 with the 49ers and Raiders appearing in one game last season.

Mike Panasiuk has signed with the New Orleans Saints after working out with them. Panasiuk has earned All-League honors Three times in a row, and replaces Will Clapp who is out for the season with an injury. The Battlehawks also saw Frank Darby and Micah Abraham workout for the 49ers and Bucs respectively. On Thursday, the Battlehawks saw Myles Jones, and Micah Abraham both workout for the 49ers each receiving their second NFL workout this cycle.

Cornell Powell received his 3rd NFL workout this time with the New Orleans Saints.
The Defenders also released Willie Drew Jr. who has signed with the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts.

Jalen Camp who recently re-signed with the Stallions worked out for the 49ers. Camp was one of Four Stallions players to recently re-sign back with Birmingham for 2026. Keaton Sutherland was waived/injured by the Lions. It is unclear if he will be placed on injured reserve at this time, or if he will be given a settlement. Ronnie Perkins worked out for the Colts, his 3rd NFL workout.
The Stallions also received some bad news about DE Bradlee Anae. The Defensive End was placed on injured reserve by the 49ers, and his status is unknown. The injury has not been disclosed and could be season ending possibly putting his return for 2026 in question.

UFL Notes:
D.C. Defenders Draft Pick Tanner Mordecai was once again released by the 49ers. Mordecai faced an uphill battle against Brock Purdy, Mac Jones, Kurtis Rourke, and Carter Bradley all on the roster. 2023 Houston Gamblers alum, Aaron Shampklin has signed with the Miami Dolphins, who just placed Running Back Alexander Mattison on injured reserve. 2024 Stallion Zack Johnson was released by the 49ers and recently worked out for the Vikings on 8/12. Due to an injury to Keaton Sutherland, Johnson was signed by the Detroit Lions who continue to battle injuries. D.J. Montgomery, a 2023 member of the Michigan Panthers was placed on the Colts injured reserve today. He’s spent the last two years with Indianapolis bouncing between the active roster, and practice squad.
