While Memphis Showboats are no more their legacy will live on through its players for the foreseeable future. One player Cyrus Habibi-Likio will continue his career in professional athletics by signing with the WWE.

Habibi came to spring football as a reserve running back with the New Orleans Breakers of the USFL in 2023, after short-lived NFL opportunities with the 49ers. He’d appear in late season action with the Breakers totaling 3 games registering 16 carries for 31 yards and a reception for 9 yards.

Habibi was released due to the merger, however found his way back to spring football due to injuries for the Memphis Showboats of the newly formed UFL (2024). He’d take a larger role with Memphis primarily on special teams where he’d register five tackles in addition to serving a multitude of roles due to injury. Upon the completion of the season Habibi was not retained for 2025.

While it looks Habibi’s playing days may be over it appears that he will continue to succeed outside of football. The former Oregon/Boise State running back has had a diverse career, that is not only with football, but ranges from an established social media presence, a successful real estate “flipping” business, and former professional rugby career.
