Samson Nacua made another headline and it wasn’t earning an NFL contract. The brother of Rams star Wide Receiver Puka Nacua has been arrested for allegedly taking LA Lakers’ forward Adou Thiero’s vehicle without his consent. Nacua was arrested and currently in custody with the LA Sheriff’s Department.
Per authorities, the vehicle was tracked to the One Hotel in West Hollywood where LSPD deputies found it. Nacua and another man Trey Rose allegedly valeted the vehicle and were arrested after being identified on the hotel’s security footage.
This isn’t the first time Nacua has made a headline, as the former Michigan Panthers wide receiver was suspended for a game for slapping a fan after the Panthers-Battlehawks game earlier this year. Nacua came out of BYU in 2022, and has spent time with the Colts (2022), Pittsburgh Maulers (2023), New Orleans Saints (2024), and Michigan Panthers (2024-25). Currently Nacua is a free agent and has yet to resign with any UFL franchises.
In a league where there are limited opportunities Nacua is not doing any favors for himself. Between being a reserve wide receiver and now facing pending charges, it’s unclear what the future holds for the talented wide receiver who has unfortunately garnered more headlines for his actions off the field rather than on it. Despite Nacua’s past performances, and the legacy of his brothers, Samson may find himself out of the football by the time his trial comes around.
