Last week, the UFL teams for the 2026 season had a chance to lay the foundation of their rosters by selecting quarterbacks, players from previous rosters, and through the UFL Draft. Now that teams have their foundation and the league is waiting patiently for the 2026 schedule to be released, teams are starting to make roster adjustments. This week, the UFL released a list of players who are being released and added to their roster post-draft.

The Orlando Storm is one of the teams adjusting their roster by releasing tight end Stevo Klotz and adding former Brahmas wide receiver Dee Anderson.

An explanation for Stevo Klotz’s removal from the Storm’s roster is most likely a lack of interest in playing in the UFL this season. During the 2025 NFL season, Klotz spent time with the Los Angeles Chargers. Klotz apparently sees more potential in continuing to chase NFL opportunities than in risking injury by playing a season in the UFL.

On the other hand, there are many players looking to come to the UFL to make an impact and turn that experience into NFL opportunities. Wide receiver Dee Anderson is a great example of a player who can use the UFL as an opportunity to demonstrate his playmaking ability. In addition, a hungry player like Dee Anderson can be much more valuable to a UFL team compared to a player who is playing in the UFL due to not having other opportunities.

Anderson joins the Orlando Storm roster after slowly building his career through opportunities granted to him by spring football leagues, including the USFL and the UFL. In 2022, Anderson made his first appearance in the USFL with the Tampa Bay Bandits, and during the 2023 USFL season, he moved on to the New Orleans Breakers. During his time in the USFL, Anderson played in 7 games and caught 13 passes for 179 yards and 2 touchdowns.

In 2024, Anderson found himself on the Memphis Showboats roster during the first season of the UFL. Anderson played in 6 games for the Showboats in 2024, catching 8 passes for 142 yards and 1 touchdown. Anderson returned to Memphis for the start of the 2025 UFL season, and he played in 5 more games, catching 15 passes for 182 yards and 1 touchdown.

The Memphis Showboats then made the decision to trade Anderson to the San Antonio Brahmas. While playing for the Brahmas, Anderson appeared in 4 additional games, catching 4 passes for 53 yards and another touchdown. Anderson is a great example of a player who is utilizing his opportunities in spring football to build future opportunities in pro football.

Anderson went through a similar process while playing college football. In 2016, Anderson started his college football career at LSU, where he played until 2019. While with the Tigers, he appeared in 36 games and caught 27 passes for 392 yards and 1 touchdown. Anderson then transferred to Oklahoma State in 2020 and played in 4 games, catching 1 pass for 14 yards. In 2021, Andeson transferred to NCAA FCS Alabama A&M, where he played in 9 games and caught 33 passes for 493 yards and scored a career-high 12 touchdowns.
