While Battlehawks fans have seen plenty of new faces grace the 2026 roster, Ricky Proehl and his staff have done a decent job of retaining plenty of players that have been with the team since 2023.

Two players the Battlehawks managed to retain for 2026 were defensive back (and draft pick) Myles Jones, along with 4th year Battlehawk Mike Rose. However, on Tuesday night the team waived both players in favor of several new players new players. The Battlehawks also released WR, Taylor Morin who was a record-setting player at Wake Forest, Head Coach Ricky Proehl’s Alma Mater.

The Battlehawks who released running back Dillon Johnson, also released running back Jordan Waters who recently signed with the LA Rams to a futures deal.

Players Added:

William Hardy Linebacker:

Hardy comes from Miles College a Division-II school in Alabama. Hardy was a 2025 UDFA who amassed 181 tackles, 20 TFLs, and 4.5 sacks through 40 games in college.

Tayler Hawkins Free Safety:

Hawkins was a 2022 UDFA who spent three seasons with the San Francisco 49ers starting one game for the team in 2023. He spent 2025 with the D.C. Defenders starting three games for the UFL champs, registering 20 tackles. He now goes into his age 28 season with the Battlehawks.

Keylon Kennedy Cornerback:

After beginning his pro career with the Vegas Vipers in the XFL, the ten-game starter joined the Battlehawks in 2024 appearing in six games with the team. Kennedy was released in 2025 prior to camp, and finds his way back on their roster prior to camp.

Mac McCain Cornerback:

McCain was a late addition for St. Louis in 2025 joining the team for the playoff push. McCain was a 2021 UDFA who has spent time with the Broncos, Eagles, Lions, Panthers, Brahmas (UFL), and Saints in his pro football career.

Rahjai Harris Running Back:

After releasing two running backs, the Battlehawks bring Harris in to compete for a spot on the roster. A 2025 UDFA Harris played his college ball at East Carolina totaling over 3,000 yards and 29 touchdowns in 50 games at ECU.

The Battlehawks roster currently sits at 63 members as the team prepares for the 2026 season. The UFL is set to begin their training camp September 23rd as the Battlehawks look to earn their first championship in their franchise history.
