It’s been quite the journey for two-time All-UFL Running Back, and now his hard work is about to pay off. After joining the Battlehawks in 2024, Saylors put together an all-league season placing second in rushing and leading the league in touchdowns. After earning NFL opportunities with the Browns and Giants in 2024, Saylors would find himself released during final cuts, finding his way back to the Battlehawks resigning in November.

In 2025, it was much of the same for Saylors. 499 rushing yards in 9 games, to go along with 5 touchdowns, along with 245 yards through the air. Saylors earned another All-UFL selection, and player of the week honors as well. While it took a little bit Saylors would earn another NFL opportunity this time with the UFL-friendly organization the Detroit Lions.

Maybe it was the extra preseason game, or maybe the stars aligned for Saylors but after putting together 112 yards on the ground, 52 through the air (on 7 receptions), and even adding 104 return yards, Saylors still found himself released during final cuts patiently awaiting another opportunity.

Saylors would resign with the Lions after cuts on their practice squad and would receive a promotion to their active roster on the 53-man roster on September 6th. The 25-year-old now joins a running back room with Jahmyr Gibbs, David Montgomery, Craig Reynolds, and Sione Vaki.

Saylors is set to become the 1st Battlehawk running back to play in an NFL game, and since 2023 will join LaCale London, A.J. McCarron, and Andre Szmyt (who made his debut in week one with the Browns) as Battlehawks who’ve appeared in an NFL game.

The Lions are set to open up their season against the Packers Today at 4:25 (ET) vs the Green Bay Packers.
