With the UFL looking to “blow up” their rosters come the new year, former Brahmas Tight End Thomas Gordon may be escaping the ensuing chaos set to begin on January 5th. Per Aaron Wilson, Gordon is now returning to Chicago on the Bears practice squad for the final two weeks of the regular season, and the Bears playoff run.
Gordon joined the Brahmas on May 19th, after some interest from NFL teams during rookie mini camps. He’d appear in one game for San Antonio joining the NFL workout cycle come August. He’d sign with the Bears on August 6th, being released during final cuts.
Gordon now becomes the 24th UFL player to earn a spot on an active roster or practice during the regular season. Gordon is one of 62 players to earn an NFL contract this UFL to NFL signing cycle, down 13 players from 2024. UFL players are set to earn over 7 million dollars this season, with spring football players from over the years earning over 58.6 million in total in 2025.

Other UFL Notes:
Logan Woodside (AAF) was on a visit with the Arizona Cardinals this Tuesday. Woodside may serve as a practice squad replacement due to Jeff Driskel joining the Commanders on their active roster.
Brandon Smith (UFL Defenders) has signed with the Patriots of their practice squad, due to injuries at their wide receiver position. Smith has spent the majority of his career with the Jets appearing in several games over the past two seasons.
Damon Arnette (UFL Roughnecks) was released by the Texans. Arnette has bounced back and forth between the Texans practice squad, and active roster.
