As the UFL prepares to release the schedule for the 2026 season, UFL teams are working feverishly to finish building their coaching staffs and load their rosters with prospects who can lead them to a championship. The Orlando Storm and head coach Anthony Becht have been busy building a strong roster. Orlando’s first roster move was to release tight end Steve Klotz and sign wide receiver Dee Anderson, and the Storm’s next move has been to add running back Elijah Dotson and defensive tackle Fabien Lovett.
The UFL released a statement on X regarding the recent transactions, including the addition of Dotson and Lovett to the Orlando Storm 2026 roster.
It is clear that Anthony Becht is using his experience in the UFL to build a team that can compete for a championship this year. Evidence of that is Becht’s commitment to building a strong offensive line with a powerful running back like Dotson and, to protect that running game, adding a serious threat by signing wide receiver Dee Anderson. Defensively, Becht has been committed to building the Storm’s defensive line, and the recent addition of Lovett to the Storm defense adds more local connections, given Lovett’s ties to Florida State as a player.
Elijah Dotson is a 5’9″, 202-pound running back who has spent time with the Los Angeles Chargers and the Atlanta Falcons during the 2023, 2024, and 2025 NFL seasons. In 2024, Dotson played in 4 games for the Chargers, recording 4 carries for 6 yards and 2 receptions for 13 yards. However, Dotson’s college stats show he can be a dual-threat running back for the Storm, with outstanding running ability and potential as a receiver out of the backfield.
Dotson played college football at Sacramento State from 2017 until 2021 and at the University of Northern Colorado during the 2022 season. While playing for the Sacramento State Hornets, Dotson appeared in 38 games, carrying the ball 451 times for 2,466 yards and scoring 22 rushing touchdowns. In addition, Dotson also caught 110 receptions for 1,109 receiving yards and 6 touchdown receptions. Dotson transferred to Northern Colorado in 2022, where he played in 11 games. He ran the ball 208 times for 933 yards and 6 touchdowns, and he also caught 48 passes for 300 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Fabien Lovett is a 6’3″, 316-pound defensive tackle who played college football at Mississippi State University from 2018 until 2019, and in 2020, he transferred to Florida State University, where he played from 2020 until 2023. While playing for the Mississippi State Bulldogs, Lovett appeared in 15 games and recorded 6 solo tackles, 13 assists, and 1 quarterback sack. After traveling to Florida State, Lovett played in 39 games, where he registered 31 solo tackles, 43 assists, and 5 quarterback sacks.
In addition to Lovett’s college experience, the defensive tackle also brings NFL experience. During the 2024 and 2025 NFL seasons, Lovett spent time on the Kansas City Chiefs’ practice squad. A player with Lovett’s prototypical size with NFL experience is going to be a valuable addition to the Orlando Storm’s defense.
