The UFL’s official public relations page has been extremely quiet, even with the first day of free agency underway. The league announced on Wednesday, that two players are signing for the 2026 season both with different franchises.
Jared Thomas-Memphis Showboats
Thomas returns for his 5th season in spring football. Originally with the USFL’s New Orleans Breakers in 2022, Thomas jumped over to the XFL starting ten games for the Seattle Sea Dragons in 2023. Thomas has spent the last two seasons with the Memphis Showboats starting 20 games on the offensive line for the team. Thomas was an All-USFL offensive lineman in 2022 as well.
Tyrion Davis-Price – Birmingham Stallions
The Stallions make their first reshuffle of their running back room this offseason. The Stallions seem comfortable bringing back C.J. Marable, and Ricky Person (per James Larson), however bring in Davis-Price a running back who’s bounced around the NFL since 2022. Davis-Price was recently released by the Packers during the 2025 preseason and has spent with the Niners, Titans, Packers, and Eagles. He’s appeared in 8 NFL games recording 43 carries, for 127 rushing yards.

While the logistics of the 2026 UFL seem to be in question, teams are operating in a similar manner of the 2023 merger with a “business as usual” mentality. The Stallions and Showboats are the first UFL teams to announce a transaction in nearly a month. Expect more UFL signings to be announced as free agency is set to begin today October 1st.
